“The Silence of Snow”

Unlike the rain,
it doesn’t shout its presence
with vulgar noise.

By the time you notice,
a clean white carpet
has already been laid.

Quietly, steadily,
it keeps working unseen.

That’s why
I like you.

“The Dream You Once Saw”

The dream you once confided in me
became our dream.
We worked toward it together.

But somewhere along the way,
it turned into my dream alone.
And one day,
it will no longer even be mine.

What will remain
is a faint bitterness in the memory,
and days that are quietly calm.

“Light Toward Tomorrow”

As the year draws to a close,
things I want to do,
things I have to do
surface in my mind—
then fade away again.

I’ll do it tomorrow.
Thinking that,
my days pass by, unchanged.

But when is “tomorrow,” really?

Tomorrow is now.

“Becoming a Star”

Last night’s meteor shower was breathtaking.
Even from home,
their trails burned clearly across the sky.

I felt myself pulled
into a sky overflowing with stars—
where a star becomes a shooting star.

So then,
what is it
that truly becomes a star?

I find myself worrying
about a hundred years from now.

“The Memory of Warmth”

Warmth isn’t just about heat—
it’s a kind of gentleness
that carries a sense of safety with it.

I feel it far less now
than I did when I was a child.
But somewhere along the way,
I found that warmth again.

The warmth I remember—
yes,
it’s the memory
of you.
